Originally built as a restaurant in 1863, the boutique Berns Hotel sits in the middle of Stockholm, Sweden, 600 meters from the narrow, cobbled streets of Gamla stan, the old town section of the city. This historic area contains the Royal Palace, which was built in the 18th century after the previous palace burned down. The Skansen open-air museum, known for its annual festivities and zoo specializing in Scandinavian wildlife, is located one kilometer away.
Grona Lund Amusement Park lies one kilometer away, along with the popular Vasa Museum, which showcases the only intact 17th-century ship, the Vasa, that was pulled from the chilly waters of Stockholm's harbor. Arlanda Airport is located 40 kilometers away.
The 65 guestrooms at the six-story Berns Hotel feature cherry-wood furnishings, minibars, satellite television, direct-dial telephones and high-speed Internet access. Some offer balconies and courtyard views.
